The Elder Law Center of Connecticut Understands
For us, elder law is not just a line item in a long list of areas we practice, it’s all that we do. We are leaders in the field and hold a position on the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Elder Law Section and are active on many forums. We publish newsletters to keep our clients informed of relevant changes in the law. We are committed to our clients and our service.
WHO WE ARE
Attorney Deborah Hadaway has been a practicing attorney in Connecticut for 27 years, and has been representing seniors and their loved ones, almost exclusively, for the past 18 years. She can assist you with concerns when it appears your loved one may need a nursing home (crisis Medicaid), or putting in place advance directives, or an appropriate estate plan.
Attorney Hadaway is an Accredited Attorney with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, an Executive Committee Member of the Connecticut Bar Association Elder Law Section, a charter member of CT NAELA and a member of the Connecticut Bar Association Probate and Estates Section and an IRA Expert, trained by Ed Slott.
WHY WE ARE
Attorney Hadaway, herself, has experienced both her mother-in-law’s incapacity by severe stroke (and surviving for 13 years afterward) as well as her mother’s diabetes, eventual blindness, hearing loss, and mental decline –and her accompanying transition from independence to assisted living to skilled nursing home care. In short, Attorney Hadaway is intimately familiar with the Elder Care Journey, and understands that traditional estate planning for death is not enough.
Her inquiry and planning options compassionately answer the question:
What if I have a chronic illness, but don’t die?
